Starting A Business Is Harder Than You Think.. Phew!

I feel like we've done so much already to get this photo business up off the ground and it seems like every day something new comes along that also has to be done. Welcome to the world of true self-employment! I suppose I already have some experience with that from being a massage therapist and also having my own art business but it's different when you are in a partnership starting one up.

Everything must be discussed and decided on. Prices of this and that. Contract formats. When to accept payment. Vacation time... OK, that last one I'm only dreaming about, but we'll be chillin' on the beach sooner than I think!

I'm currently charging batteries for my wedding shoot tomorrow for Vanessa Mayberry and Eric Porter. I was there when they meet a few years back and I'm happy to be getting the honor of photographing their wedding. I look forward to writing a blog about their special day with a few pictures to help you imagine being there yourself!

My goals for the next 6 months:
Get a secondary Canon 5D Mark ii
And another lens that has caught my eye. There are many but I haven't decide just which one I want next.

A Rose By Any Other Name - A handful of people have made comments on how our name isn't professional enough.. And to that I say 'Pff!' I'm defending our name! We took a long time coming up with it. Over a period of a month we came up with many different options. We wanted something really original. We didn't want something like 'Treasured Memories' or 'Forever Photography'.... what a snooze fest!  Standard photography names are for standard photographers and we are anything but! Monkey Suit Photography is all about being trendy and on the cutting edge while maintaining a level of class that gets lost in the mix these days. It's old school meets new school meets our school. We strive for excellence. We want to get those creative shots and angles. We want every session to be special and fun and for our clients to walk away happy with their experience and their photos.  Our goal is not only to take your photograph or document your event but to create art with you!

So if you are looking for some photographs with some fantastic and trendy shots - you're in the the right place. Don't worry we also know how to photograph the traditional shots as well so you get a well rounded package! Looking forward to posting the next blog! Goodnight everyone!
